Sella, Golden Sella and Steam Rice Explained

Three processing routes, three very different grains. A practical guide for retail buyers and food-service importers.

Every Basmati and non-Basmati variety Agrovet exports is available in three finishes. The variety sets the aroma and grain length; the finish sets the colour, cooking behaviour and shelf presentation.

Creamy Sella

Parboiled then milled, producing a firm, non-sticky grain with excellent separation after cooking. 1121 Creamy Sella elongates from 8.35 mm to 18.2 mm.

Golden Sella

A longer parboil imparts the characteristic golden tint and a slightly firmer bite — favoured in Gulf and African retail markets.

Steam

Partially processed for a natural white grain with the strongest elongation of the three: 1121 Steam reaches 22.9 mm after cooking. The premium choice for biryani and HORECA use.

Packing

1 to 50 kg bags in jute, PP, non-woven or BOPP, with private-label printing available on qualifying volumes.
