At 8,900 kcal/kg, feed oil is the densest energy source in most rations. Here is how the fatty-acid ratio translates into feed conversion.

Growfat Animal Feed Oil is a blend of vegetable fats with functional additives, formulated for a 2.85 unsaturated-to-saturated fatty acid ratio. That ratio, not the fat percentage alone, governs how much of the energy an animal can actually absorb.

Why the USFA:SFA ratio matters

Unsaturated fatty acids are emulsified and absorbed more readily, particularly in young birds where lipase activity is still developing. A 2.85 ratio keeps digestibility high across the growth curve rather than only in finisher phases.

Linoleic acid and egg mass

A 50% linoleic acid concentration supports egg size and mass in layers and breeders — one reason feed oil and NRG Powder are frequently specified together in layer programmes.
